Bruntwood SciTech and LegalTech in Leeds announce Strategic Partnership

Bruntwood SciTechhas pledged its support for the LegalTech in Leeds initiative, announcing aseries of quarterly events as part of an annual partnership, whilst alsocreating a LegalTech in Leeds hub at its iconic Platform building in the citycentre.

LegalTech in Leeds, an initiative coordinated by Whitecap Consulting, was created in 2022 to help develop a LegalTech community in the Leeds City Region.It aims to bring together the legal and tech sectors in Leeds, with three core objectives: help facilitate the digital transformation of the legal sector; support tech entrepreneurs seeking to engage with the legal sector; and enhance access to legal services for consumers and businesses in the region.

LegalTech in Leeds has now developed an ongoing annual programme of activity including events, marketing activity, research, and an advisory board. A dedicated website is currently in development and LegalTech in Leeds has a growing network of regional and national sponsors and partners, including AddleshawGoddard, Bruntwood SciTech, Barclays Eagle Labs, Calls9, CSP,DAC Beachcroft, Leeds City Council, Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership, Leeds Law Society, Leeds Trinity University, LawtechUK, rradar,The University of Law, Walker Morris.

As a strategic partner, Bruntwood SciTech will be closely involved with the planned ongoing programme of activity including hosting and co-creating a series of events, sitting on the advisory board and being positioned as a sponsor across the full events programme and the annual LegalTech in Leeds report. The Platform building – part of Bruntwood SciTech’s network of innovation districts – will serve as the LegalTech in Leeds hub, offering the LegalTech community access to co-working space, meeting rooms, and an event space, as well as hosting a hackathon in the new year.

In partnership with LegalTech in Leeds, Bruntwood SciTech will host quarterly ‘Legal Innovation Talks’ which will cover a range of topics relating to the digital transformation of the legal sector. The first of these events was hosted on Friday 30th September, as part of Leeds DigitalFestival, and attracted more than 90 signups. Bruntwood also hosted the inaugural LegalTech in Leeds conference in March, which took place at its West Gate site.
