Our purpose

LegalTech in Leeds exists to connect the legal and tech sectors, creating a community that collaborates, innovates, and drives meaningful change. We believe that by working together, we can accelerate digital transformation, enhance access to legal services, and enable innovation that benefits clients, businesses, and society.

Our Vision

To establish Leeds as a leading hub for LegalTech, regionally, nationally, and internationally, where collaboration between law and technology drives solutions that are inclusive, forward-thinking, and impactful.

Our Key Aims

  • Accelerate Digital Transformation
Create stronger links between law and technology to meet client needs and embrace the changing face of competition.
  • Enhance Access to Legal Services
Improve access to legal expertise and justice for consumers and businesses by identifying and supporting innovative solutions.
  • Drive and Enable Innovation
Support entrepreneurs and innovators who can enhance the provision of legal services, while helping to demystify the challenge of working with the legal sector.

Our Story

LegalTech in Leeds was first launched as a short-term initiative by Whitecap Consulting, supported by partners and sponsors, to deliver the recommendations of the Leeds City Region LegalTech and Innovation Report. What began as a one-off initiative quickly grew into a thriving community, culminating in our inaugural LegalTech in Leeds Conference in 2022.

Since then, LegalTech in Leeds has evolved into one of the UK’s most dynamic LegalTech communities, running over 60 events and attracting thousands of professionals from legal, technology, academia, and the public sector. With the guidance of our Advisory Board and the support of our sponsors, we continue to build momentum with conferences, hackathons, seminars, and networking that bring our community together.

Where are we now?

With the support of multiple partners and sponsors, we are now continuing to develop an exciting programme of activity including seminars and workshops, networking drinks, our second annual conference and our first ever hackathon, as well as an update on the Leeds City Region LegalTech report.

We have also established a LegalTech in Leeds advisory board which meets every month to discuss the ongoing progress of the initiative and to ensure we remain committed to our aims and true to our values: Professional, Inclusive, Collaborative, Independent.
