New report delivers blueprint for colleges to enhance West Yorkshire’s finance and professional services sector
A new report by Whitecap Consulting sets out how colleges can play a leading role in supporting WestYorkshire’s flourishing finance and professional services (FPS) industry.
Commissioned by Luminate Education Group, the research builds on the work of the Yorkshire and Humber Financial and Professional Services Skills Commission, and highlights how colleges are currently an untapped resource fora sector that employs around 80,000 people within the region.
The financial and professional services (FPS) industry encompasses a wide range of sectors including finance, law, accounting, and management consulting, playing a crucial role in West Yorkshire’s economy. This industry-led report underscores the vital contribution of the region’s colleges in nurturing a robust and diverse talent pool to support FPS firms.
This report forms part of a wider project, funded by theUK Government’s Local Skills Improvement Funding (LSIF), which seeks to address current and future FPS skills priorities in West Yorkshire. This wider projectis being led by Luminate Education Group, alongside WestYorkshire Consortium of Colleges, Calderdale College, Shipley College and the Heart ofYorkshire College Group.
